It was a quotation entry

I haven't done a quote entry in a long time, but these two really caught my eye. The first because the irony is damn hilarious and the second because it is so true it is scary. I've been reading a book called "You Are Being Lied To" by Russ Kick. It is basically a bunch different articles demonstrating how the media, government, corporations and social institutions lie, misrepresent themselves, misreport or don't report important information, and keep alive social fears and myths that should have been debunked long ago. It's like conspiracy theory that isn't really conspiracy because the information is right there if anyone wants to look for it, I just don't think that many people know they should be looking. The media and government who are supposed to be reporting things accurately do not and in the end most people don't have the time or energy to find out what is wrong with that they are telling us or what they aren't telling us. Reading this book seems to be a good start though.

Computer games don't affect kids, I mean if Pac Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching pills and listening to repetitive music.

Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are even incapable of forming such opinions.
-- Albert Einstein
