Come on, don't tell me communist regimes have never been the slightest bit brutal. The point is that they were being pragmatic, and that's what's required here. This whole attitute of blaming everything on psychological issues comes pretty close to saying we can all do anythign we like and shouldn't be punished for it, because we're all actually pretty blameless for our actions. And any sort of camps just takes you back to the current solution, which is to lock folk up for a bit. I think there's ample evidence that that's not much of an incentive to stop being criminal, or a deterrent to those who might become criminals.

In short, there should be some sort of significant fear factor, and I'd say threatening to literally cut off someone's balls if they start acting up would be a pretty powerful message. And there's not enough of that sort of pragmatism about, because everyone's a knee-jerk liberal these days. The only reason they can ever give for being so is that everyone has these supposed 'rights'. Yet all these apparent rights have done is produce a democratic system in the western world that serves people less well than imperial rule, and uses them even more than your average monarchy. If the people here won't buy into communism, we should 'encourage' the growth of neo-confucianism, rebuild the legal system, and possibly lop off Rory Bremner's multifariously antagonistic head.
