11:38 a.m. | Thursday, May. 13, 2004 enzyme update Enzyme Update: My mom talked to the doctor in Calgary today. I will have to go to Calgary every two weeks to get the infusion of the enzyme. He is having a conference call with the people at Genzyme (the pharmaceutical company we all know and love) on Tuesday. There is a contract and a consent form to sign. The doctor has to go before an ethics board of some sort. Hopefully the ethics board is speedy. The rest probably won't take much time. There are questions about who is going to pay for things when the trial is over, but Genzyme has said in the past that it doesn't want cost to get in the way of people having access to the enzyme. As well, they have said that they will work with insurance companies and governments to get things paid for. I guess we shall see. That's everything I know at this point.
